Northwich Christmas Extravaganza

Saturday 29th November

Saturday 29th November marks the official start of the celebrations, with the festivities kicking off at 11am. The town will transform into a winter wonderland packed with free fun for all ages - including a Christmas Crazy Golf course, face painting, festive games, and a bustling craft village. Don’t forget your camera, because Santa will be arriving on his sleigh for magical meet-and-greets and unforgettable photos!

There’s something for everyone to enjoy from one end of town to the other — from the ferris wheel on Apple Market Place to the giant snow globes and free-to-play games at the top of Witton Street, alongside crazy golf, face painting, festive treats and much more. Look out for photo opportunities with surprise Christmas characters and your chance to win great prizes!

What to expect?

Christmas Crazy Golf - FREE

On High Street just outside Barclays you'll find 9 holes of Christmas Crazy Golf, which you can play for free - booking is NOT required.

Funfair & Swing Grill

Shardlands Funfairs will rock up to Northwich once more, with a whole host of fairground rides to enjoy and if you're looking for a bratwurst... you're at the right place!

Christmas Market

Take a stroll along Witton Street to see a range of stalls, including sweet treats, clothing, jewellery and much more all available to purchase. Fantastic Chef Nigel Brown will also be cooking up a storm in FREE cookery demos. There'll also be some free arts and crafts sessions throughout the day.

Christmas Games - FREE

Chuck Santa Down the Chimney, Elf on the Shelf Knockdown and Nutcracker hoopla games will be free to play, and you'll even win a prize if you manage to achieve the games goal! Located at the top end of Witton Street, you'll also find some bumper cars and a Snow Globe!

Santa's Sleigh - FREE

Santa has parked his sleigh at the top of Witton Street, with a few of his Reindeer and penguins from the North Pole (props), you can take a seat and snap a precious memory.

Santa's Grotto

It wouldn’t be Christmas without Santa’s Grotto, brought to you by Northwich Rotary. Meet Father Christmas himself on Weaver Way (close to Wild Tots and Wildwood) from 10am - 4pm on Saturday November 29th, December 6th, 13th & 20th, and on the mornings of Monday 22nd and Tuesday 23rd December. Face Painters - FREE

From reindeer to penguins, nutcrackers and presents, our festive face painters can create a wonderfully festive scene, just for you!  You'll find them on Witton Street, near the craft village!

Live Music

In Barons Square you'll find live music throughout the day, building up to the big switch on at  5:30pm*.

Lantern Parade & Switch On

As the sun sets, the magic truly begins… The Lantern Parade will light up the streets from Waitrose at 5pm, leading to the dazzling Christmas Lights Switch-On in Barons Square at 5:30pm - followed by a spectacular fireworks finale at 6pm that will leave the sky sparkling!
