A Northwich business had an early Christmas present when it was voted as having the best festive bauble during a town centre competition.
Gwen’s Bridal on Witton Street received the most votes from the public after entering Northwich’s bauble trail competition which took place during the 2019 Christmas Extravaganza.
Those taking part in the trail were asked to choose which design they thought was the best out of the 13 businesses involved and the competition was fierce.
Northwich Art Shop, Club Class 24-7 Taxi, Pretty Princess Cakes and Bakes, Store 101, Board Beans Café, Crafty Stitches, Bella Boutique, Abda’s Café, White Ribbon Boutique, Kanya Café, Wright Marshall and Vinnie’s Cakes and Shakes all took part however it was Gwen’s Bridal that came out on top.
The store was presented with a bottle of champagne by the Northwich Business Improvement District on Tuesday 17th December for their success in the competition.
Business Owner Gwen said: “The design thoughts were that we needed it in keeping with the shop; that being bridal and seamstress.
“Therefore we created the bauble with bridal fabrics that we had and we wanted it to be angel-like with a tutu, but in particular the children were in our thoughts so we wanted them to like it and even find her funny. We gave all the children sweets too!
“It was a most enjoyable day; we had lots of fun and even got the children making wishes in front of the bauble with their eyes closed.”
As the name suggests, Gwen’s Bridal supplies wedding, bridesmaid and mother of the bride dresses as well as stocking a range of evening dresses and rainbow club shoes.
At the store, customers can also get their hands on outfits for christenings, flower girls, communion and page boys too.
It also prides itself as Cheshire’s leading stockist for formal hire, making hiring a wedding suit simple. Accessories such as hats and shoes are readily available as well.
