Getting out for exercise is a great way to clear your head and enjoy some fresh air.
Here in Northwich there are lots of greenspaces and environments waiting to be enjoyed too. That’s why we’ve compiled a list of some great walking and running trails for you to try.
They vary in length and many can be combined if you fancy doing a longer version of your own.

Walking Trails
Neumann’s Flash AND ANDERTON BOAT LIFT
This circular walk of just over 7km takes in beautiful nature and woodlands.
It will take around an hour and a half to two hours and is good for all skill levels. Please note the latest comments for any updates to the route and conditions.

Two Locks
Just under 5 miles, this walk features the historic Hunts Lock and Vale Royal Locks.
It is a beautiful waterside stroll and is sure to feature some lovely wildlife on the way. You can download the route from the Visit Cheshire website via the link below.
Anderton Nature Park
This 2.5 mile route is one the whole family can do but could be extended if you fancy something more challenging.
You will explore different habitats on this waterside wander and find peace and tranquillity as you stroll in the fresh air. Take a look at the full route details below.
Northwich’s Parks and Waterways
Don’t forget that Northwich has some beautiful scenery just moments from the town centre.
Both Verdin Park and Vickersway Park are ideal for a lunchtime walk or short loop after work, and of course both the Rivers Weaver and Dane make for the perfect meander at any time of day.
Running Trails
These routes have all been developed by Run Together. Their aim is to provide fun, friendly and inclusive running opportunities for people of all ages and abilities.

The arches and Vickersway Park – 1 Mile
This 1 mile route starts behind the Northwich Memorial Court and is perfect for beginners.
Taking in Vickersway Park and the River Dane there is plenty to see though, and you could always do more circuits and time each lap.
The Three Bridges – 3km
This 3km route starts just off Leicester Street and features some beautiful countryside.
Please take care when crossing the bridges as they are quite narrow and may be slippery.
Neumann’s Flashes – 5km
This is an excellent 5km route taking in the flashes. The route is signposted and is also great for anyone with pushchairs or wheelchairs.
