Dr Diana Leitch MBE, (Trustee of the Catalyst Science Discovery Centre and Museum), will launch the Brunner Mond 150th anniversary weekend with a keynote talk introducing the ground-breaking partnership of Sir John Brunner and Ludwig Mond. In 1873 Brunner and Mond built a factory in Winnington to produce sodium carbonate this would lead several years later to the founding of chemical giant ICI .
