Join us in this historic moment as we celebrate the progress of LGBT+ politics and inclusivity in Northwich and Cheshire through a community quilt project. Inspired by Daniel Quasar’s Progress design, we aim to create a quilt composed of 430 handmade patches, each representing local figures, organisations, friends, family, and personal journeys within the LGBT+ community.
Participate in our 2-hour workshops, where you can create a 15cm square patch to be part of the quilt. Take your work home to finish and return it at a later date. Our experienced textile artists, Laura Limer and Kishwar Ranger, Northwich Pride organiser Zoe Briers, and creative LGBT+ ally Julie Lawrence will be there to support the workshop. A photo diary, stories, and sketches associated with individual patches will be compiled, and we plan to unveil the quilt at an exhibition. The quilt will then be made available to Northwich/CWAC for education and outreach purposes. Join us in celebrating the spirit of community and inclusion through this unique and creative project.
Bookings for this event are not available, the sessions may be fully booked or the bookings have not yet opened. Check back later.
