Where there’s a Will
It’s not something you want to think about, but have you and your loved ones made a Will? There are so many reasons why you should and once it’s done, you won’t have to worry about it again.
As well as reducing stress on those you leave behind, a Will can make sure your wishes are carried out to the letter, as well as making sure your Estate is looked after in the most tax-efficient manner possible.
A Will can be made by anyone over the age of 18, and if you have children under the age of 18, it makes provision for their care after you’ve gone by appointing Guardians; without a Will and in the event of your death, they could become a ward of court which is a terrifying thought for any parent. In today’s era of the blended family, a Will can also safeguard your estate for your children in the event of a future marriage by your bereaved spouse.
How do I start?
In our humble opinion, and whilst you can do it yourself, the best thing to do is to take specialist legal advice. We have some wonderful solicitors in Northwich who specialise in Wills and Probate work and will take the stress of this away for you. They’ll even be able to register the will and store a copy of it for you (for a fee).
