After the festive season launched in style with Northwich’s Christmas Extravaganza last month, there’s lots of festive fun to look forward to in the run-up to Christmas Day itself – here’s our guide to what’s on in Northwich this December!
Did you know about the Panto? Oh yes you did!
It’s not Christmas without a pantomime, and this year you’re in for a real treat. Catch Anton Benson Production’s magical retelling of the timeless classic Cinderella, at Memorial Court from December 8th, featuring an all-star cast including Katie Price and Kerry Katona!

Meet the Big Man himself – Santa!
The Rotary’s Christmas Grotto is back this year, giving children the chance to tell Santa what they want for Christmas. Taking place every Saturday until December 21st, the Grotto is by H&M in Barons Quay, with tickets £7.50 per child.

You can also enjoy Breakfast with Santa at Memorial Court on December 15th and 22nd. Adults can tuck into a bacon or sausage sandwich, while children enjoy freshly baked pastries and fruit juice and get to take a present home with them.
If Breakfast with Santa isn’t enough, Memorial Court is also hosting Storytime with Santa on the same dates, from 11am – 12.15pm, where children can sit back for an hour and listen as Santa reads his favourite Christmas story. Each child will also receive a gift from Santa.

Christmas Window Trail
Northwich’s Christmas Window Trail is available to enjoy until Saturday 7th December, with 17 letters painted in shop windows across the town centre. The letters spell out a festive phrase; by finding them and working it out, visitors can win prizes! Drop into Radio Northwich to pick up a trail sheet.
Christmas Window Competition
As well as the Christmas Window Trail, 25 businesses in Northwich have entered the Christmas window competition – with the public deciding which window is best! Not only does the winner received a £100 voucher, a lucky member of the public who voted will also receive a voucher to spend in the town centre.

Live Performances
In Northwich, we’re incredibly lucky to have such a vibrant music scene and this December there’s loads of live performances you can enjoy.
On December 7th, 80s band The Christians will be performing at The Plaza, in aid of Brain Tumour Research and on the 13th The Plaza will host the Indie Explosion: The Story of Britpop, with 90’s classics from Oasis, Blur, The Stone Roses, The Verve and more.

The Salty Dog has a number of live music nights this month, including Wonk Unit with support from Scene Killers on December 6th, Coughin Vicars with support from Dead Rebel Band and Heed Case on December 13th and Hazels Maze + Gas Kunst on December 21st.
The Salthouse NW also has its Sunday sessions, with House of Cain on December 15th and Goosebumps on December 22nd. Not content to stop there, The Salthouse is also hosting Christmas Bingo, which is set to take place on December 8th, with 5 games for £5!
Everyone’s favourite local band, the Northwich Ukelele Band, will be hosting their Christmas singalong at The Grape & Bean on December 19th, giving you a chance to enjoy a good old sing song in a lovely atmosphere!
Christmas Crafts – events for both kids and adults!
Everybody loves a bit of Christmas crafting and this year there’s events for both adults and children!
At Dockyard on December 11th, from 6.00pm – 7.30pm adults can join get stuck in with a Hand-Painting Stockings Workshop, with tickets including a free drink and all the necessary accessories!
And on December 22nd, at Abda’s there will be Christmas Crafts for children from 12pm – 2pm as part of the café’s Sudanese Sunday, where adults can enjoy coffee, cake and Sudanese specials.

Is Christmas really Christmas until you’ve watched Elf? The Odeon is bringing back all our favourite Christmas films so you can sit back, relax and watch them on the big screen. The dates are as follows:

It’s Small Business Saturday on December 7th, which is an opportunity to show your support for all of Northwich’s fantastic independent businesses. Make sure to shop local and pick up some Christmas gifts while you’re in town.
