The Northwich Business Improvement District (BID) will continue for a further five years from September after retailers voted yes in the BID2 ballot at the end of June.
Of those who took part, 77% were in favour of another term for the Northwich BID. This means that over £1 million of private sector money will be invested in the town until 2024.
BID2 will officially start on 1st September 2019 after the current terms finishes on Saturday 31st August.
Since 2014, a range of initiatives, services and projects have been delivered by the BID to make Northwich a great place to visit, live and do business.
This work, which includes the delivery of extravaganzas, provision of PR and Social Media support for businesses and investments into floral displays and cleanliness, has helped attract tens of thousands of additional visitors to the town since 2014.
More than 100,000 consumers have been reached on social media too with positive news and information about the town and its businesses.
Northwich BID Manager Jane Hough was delighted with news of the yes vote and is looking forward to starting work on BID2.
“It’s great to know that business within Northwich want to see the town continuing to develop and flourish as much as we do and it’s brilliant to receive their support,” said Jane.
“As a team we have seen Northwich grow and prosper over the last five years through the hard work, investment and determination from the BID and its partners including local businesses, Cheshire West and Chester Council, Northwich Town Council and Groundwork who manage the operations of the BID.
“Thank you to each business that voted and as a BID team we can’t wait to continue working with the town’s fantastic businesses and the local community going forward.”
