This week we were blown away by The Wow Shop and their amazing balloon creations, their range of party prep and their selection of fancy dress accessories. They offer decorations for all events so it’s great if you really want to go the extra mile!
Vickkie, the store owner, decided to open The Wow Shop as a family business, based on the experience of her sister who had worked with balloons for many years. Vickkie said; “I had a completely different career about 7 years ago but my husband and I decided to open this, we had no retail experience, it was in the middle of a recession but we decided to have a family business.”

WHAT EVENTS DO THEY CATER FOR?
They cater for all kinds of events including birthdays, baby showers, corporate events, weddings and more! It’s a great place to look for inspiration for upcoming birthdays and celebrations. There is also a huge range of fancy dress outfits and accessories, a wall full of wigs and media makeup.
wHAT ARE SOME OF THEIR LATEST PRODUCTS?
The Wow Shop love to keep up with latest trends and they always make sure they have the latest products first. Vickkie said: “We will not skimp on the quality of our balloons, it’s all about quality for us, and it’s all about new so as soon as something comes on the market we make sure that we are the first to have it.” They work with great suppliers so if they don’t stock a particular balloon style that you would like, they can get it in for you!
Some of their latest products include chalk balloons, clear bubble balloons, walking pet balloons, confetti balloons, giant balloons and their brand-new water filled balloons.
WHAT SERVICES DO THEY OFFER?
You can get your balloons delivered to your home or to your venue via their local delivery service, no matter the size of the order.
They also offer help and advice for some creative balloon ideas for events. They have good knowledge of local venues so they can give you advice on what works well in specific locations.

HOW FAR IN ADVANCE DO YOU HAVE TO ORDER THE BALLOONS?
The sooner you can let the shop know exactly what you want, the better. Particularly if you require delivery as their delivery slots go fast. The simpler balloon creations can sometimes be ordered on the same day. However, keep in mind that they are very popular; they even have some wedding balloons booked in for in two years’ time!
WHAT DO THEY LIKE MOST ABOUT BEING IN NORTHWICH?
They are keen to support other Northwich businesses and love to recommend other independent shops for your extra party requirements such as cakes and flowers. Vickkie said; “The business community in Northwich and the friends that we’ve made with other businesses is brilliant and we all try and look after each other.”
