Sunday 17th June is Father’s Day, and where better to treat the father figure in your life than in your home town of Northwich? For the purposes of this blog, we’ll talk about ‘dad’ but for the sake of clarity and for ease, by this we mean all dads, grandparents, uncles, step-dads, foster dads, carers and mums pulling a double shift.
But where to go with so much choice?
The Quayside offers family-friendly food and a fun relaxed environment, plus on Father’s Day, they have a Family Fun Day with a BBQ and live performances from Northwich’s own Reggae Got Soul. Check out their Facebook page for up-to-date details.
If you fancy giving your own BBQ King the day off, look no further than Sunny BBQ. Serving sumptuous Portuguese plates for tempting takeaways, you don’t even need to book; although a word of warning though, don’t forget to add the Pasteis de Nata – the beautiful Portuguese Custard Tarts in perfect pastry – on to your order for pudding.
On Witton Walk, you’ll find Goblin Coffee and Beer where you could call in for a coffee, a cake or maybe even treat him to a beer? They’re open 10-5 on Sundays.
If filling your home rather than filling your tummy is more your thing, take him on a shopping trip to Chapel Gifts and Home for the latest in hand-selected household gifts (then you can treat yourself too!). Or how about a personalised baseball cap or hoodie, some vintage vinyl from Store 101?
Relish Tandoori Bangladeshi Restaurant is a firm favourite in the Visit Northwich Offices, they never fail to make a meal special so would be a great choice for Father’s Day, either as a sit-down meal or a takeaway. With signature dishes including Chicken Lava, Akbari Cham Cham and (our personal fave) Gosht Achari, you’ll be spoiled for choice. Another word to the wise, excluding Father’s Day if you fancy a midweek treat, for dine-in only they have a special offer on of £13.95pp for a five course meal.
Have you been to Grape and Bean yet? From classic coffees to contemporary cocktails, the cool interior is the perfect place for a Saturday drink to treat dad before Sunday’s lie-in.
Flowers are not just for mums y’know! Buying dad a card and some flowers or a potted plant from Asda or Waitrose might just be the perfect present, or take him for a brunch at one of their in-house cafes. The High Street hipster in you might want to choose dad a summer tee or shirt in H&M, or how about independent retailer Apparel Cheshire with their designer threads to choose from.
You could take him to the Odeon Cinema, Marbury Park, there’s so much fun stuff to do in Northwich, we’re sure whatever you choose you’ll make his day.
