One of Northwich’s newest arrivals is supporting the town’s Business Improvement District (BID) ahead of the Great British High Street Awards (GBHS) judging day.

Pretty Princess Cakes & Bakes, which only opened a few weeks ago, is supplying 100 GBHS themed Vanilla Cupcakes for when the judges visit Northwich on Thursday 11th October and owner Lisa Russett is delighted to be involved.

“It’s very exciting and it’s nice to mutually support each other in the town,” she said. “I’ve also been encouraging my customers to vote for Northwich in the competition by posting on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter and by sharing on local neighbourhood Facebook pages.”

It’s been a busy, stressful, but ultimately exciting time for Lisa following the process of opening the business and she has already noticed the community spirit that exists in Northwich.

“Lots of people have been in wishing me well and other business owners and shop workers have popped in to introduce themselves and try some of our treats.

“The atmosphere has been really welcoming and positive,” commented Lisa.

And despite the doors having not been open long, Lisa has already been impressed with the amount of events and activities that take place in Northwich to encourage people to visit the town.

“We stayed open until 9:30pm on Saturday for the Now Northwich festival and the town was buzzing. I can’t wait for the Christmas Extravaganza in November either. We came last year and had a great time so it will be great to actually be involved this time round.”

While event organisers the Northwich BID do have one eye on Christmas, their immediate attentions are focused on this Thursday with the town being judged in the ‘Rising Star Award 2018’ category.

Northwich BID Officer Mark Henshaw has been blown away by the support the town has already received from businesses and the public.

“It’s been amazing to see businesses decorating their shops ahead of the vote and getting involved in the campaign by interacting on social media and with their customers. I’ve seen plenty of support online too – hopefully it continues!”
