Three Northwich businesses have received prizes from the town’s Business Improvement District (BID) after entering a competition relating to Northwich In Bloom.
A range of the town’s retailers entered the Northwich ‘Best Dressed Business’ competition over the summer as they decorated shop fronts, gardens, bars and shopping areas to impress visitors.
Voting took place on the Visit Northwich Facebook page with hundreds taking to the social media platform to choose their favourite display and it was a close run contest.
Ultimately though there had to be a winner, and it was Crafty Stitches who came out on top with Bella Boutique in second and Nigel Bailey Hair in third.
All three businesses received their prizes from Northwich BID Officer Mark Henshaw with Louise Hough from Crafty Stitches receiving the coveted ‘Best Dressed Business’ trophy along with a bottle of champagne.
Mark has praised all of the businesses that took part in the competition and enjoyed seeing the community spirit among all of the retailers.
“I’d like to congratulate Crafty Stitches, Bella Boutique and Nigel Bailey Hair for finishing in the top three but I’d also like to say thank you to each and every business that got involved in the competition. Their designs, creativity and ingenuity were great to see and they added colour and an eye-catching element to the town centre.
“There was a lot of teamwork involved too between different businesses which highlighted the strong community spirit that exists between traders in Northwich.”
The ‘Best Dressed Business’ competition was just one element of the town’s entry into the Royal Horticultural Society’s (RHS) North West In Bloom contest which included a range of initiatives such as the installation of hanging and railing baskets, the bedding of floral motifs and community initiatives.
Northwich must now wait until the end of October for the results at an official ceremony in Southport.
