Just so you know, the paddling pool is managed by Northwich Town Council and had over 24,000 tickets booked over the 202 sessions made available last year… so it’s quite popular! Don’t forget, if you book a session for this year, you can cancel up to an hour before the start time, if a session is fully booked this will release your places for those on the waitlist.

How much does it cost to book a session at the paddling pool?

Church Walk Paddling Pool is free of charge, however this is only due to local Northwich residents paying for the facility through the Town Councils precept. If you’re visiting from outside of Northwich, we would ask that you make a donation following the booking process.

Can we just turn up to the paddling pool without a booking?

No, we’re not able to facilitate walk-ins to the paddling pool, all visitors must book in advance.

Why do we need to book a session at the paddling pool?

Church Walk Paddling Pool is a very popular attraction in Northwich and sees people travelling from miles around to visit. We need to manage the number of people visiting to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all.

When is the paddling pool available to book?

The paddling pool is open 7 days a week from late May until early September, with two sessions each day. 10am – 1pm & 2pm 5pm.

Is my booking guaranteed?

Your booking is always weather dependent and where necessary we may choose to close the pool should the weather forecast be extremely poor. You’ll receive an email if you’re booked onto a session that won’t be taking place – we will not provide an alternative date and you’ll need to rebook yourself onto a future session.

How do I cancel my booking?

Once you’ve made a booking, you’ll have an account with Visit Northwich, just head to https://visitnorthwich.co.uk/bookings, log in and click ‘cancel’ on the booking you can no longer attend.

What facilities are available at the paddling pool?

There are male/female toilets which also double as changing rooms and an onsite shop selling food and drink. There are numerous seats around the pool and grass areas for picnics etc. Adjacent to the pool you’ll find a fantastic family park with lots of play equipment.

Pool Rules

This paddling pool is for the use of young children only.
All children inside the paddling pool enclosure must be accompanied by a responsible person who is responsible for the child at all times.
Babies and children should only wear suitable swimming nappies when using the paddling pool, these can be purchased from the kiosk.
NO DOGS are allowed in the pool or pool enclosure.
Glass bottles, glasswear or china must not be brought into the pool enclosure.
The surrounds of the paddling pool may be slippery, so to avoid accidents please no running in the pool area.
The paddling pool is a bare foot area; no skateboards, roller skates, bicycles or other such equipment shall be brought into the pool or pool enclosure.
This is a shallow water paddling pool not for swimming or diving.
Strictly no alcohol and no smoking.
No ball games.
All persons using this facility do so at their own risk.
The facility and its equipment must be used for its intended purpose only.

Private Hire

Church Walk Paddling Pool is available for private hire, outside of the bookable session times. When booking a private session, we’ll provide one member of our team who will remain at the pool to ensure everyone stays safe. To discuss options for private hire, please email [email protected]. Prices start at £150 for 1.5 hours hire.
