A promotional video for Northwich has been launched, with the aim of marketing the town as a ‘destination with a difference.’
Funded by the Northwich Business Improvement District (BID) and Cheshire West and Chester Council (CWAC), and created by local video production team Studio 24-7, the film tells a story of Northwich and its surrounding areas.
Viewers are guided through a range of the town’s well-known attractions and hidden gems by a host of famous Northwich faces including BBC Radio presenter Mark Radcliffe, Olympic medallist Beth Tweddle and English Track Cyclist Pete Mitchell, as well as Great British rower Ellie and local ‘Stuntman’ Archie.
Celebrating the successful year Northwich has had in 2018, the video shows clips from some of the best events hosted in the town such as the NOW Northwich Festival and the CW NINE event, which featured four exclusive performances from The Charlatans. Other events enjoyed throughout the year have included the Northwich Festival of Arts, Northwich River Festival and a series of well-attended Extravaganzas.
She continued: “We wanted to use the video to shine a spotlight on Northwich’s green spaces, independent and national retailers, local heritage attractions and the range of leisure activities that visitors can enjoy here and we feel that the video summarises this perfectly.”
Councillor Brian Clarke, Cabinet Member for Economic Development and Infrastructure at Cheshire West and Chester Council, has echoed Jane’s sentiments, saying: “We’re surrounded by great cities such as Manchester, Liverpool and Chester but wanted to highlight the reasons why Northwich truly is a destination with a difference.
“With the huge range of national and independent retailers right next door to beautiful wildlife and historic sites, there’s no reason not to promote Northwich as a day trip and weekend holiday destination.
“We think this video does an excellent job of presenting this and we’re looking forward to hearing the positive reactions from the public.”
