Throughout the October half-term, thereโ€™s plenty of fun-filled Halloween events and activities in Northwich for the family to partake in. Come and join the Witches & Wizardโ€™s spooky Halloween trail around town and find the secret ingredients to the magical potion that could win you a family ticket for the Northwich Odeon. Trail maps are available from Radio Northwich, Brio Memorial Hall and Danteโ€™s on Witton Street (and all participating businesses. Make sure to look out for the logoโ€™s in the shop windows!)

Firthfield Pet Shop: From 11am โ€“ 3pm on October 29th to 31st, Firthfield Pet Shop is offering youngsters the chance to come in and meet/hold some of the animals in-store. Itโ€™s an opportunity to ask questions, get over any fears and understand how to care for a whole range of animals, from snakes to rabbits, hamsters and more! Thereโ€™s no cost and no need to pre-book.

Dockyard: On October 30th, head to Dockyard in Barons Quay for โ€˜Make Some SPOOKY Noiseโ€™, where award-winning rhymer (Glastonbury festival Poet in Residence) Dommy B shares a surprising story full of Hilarious Halloween high spirits!

Hear about Dommy B growing up, finding a brilliant (but naughty) imaginary friend, becoming โ€˜Junk the Punkโ€™ and joining a great school band (Whizzkid and the Veggie Burgers). Dommy B and his friends celebrate this magical, spook-tacular time of the year with jokes and silly scares! Thereโ€™ll be rhymes, laughs, and lots of opportunity to make some spooky noise in a celebration of the power of sound and friendship.

Odeon, Barons Quay: Back by popular demand, on October 28th families can take part in a Spooky Robot Making Workshop โ€“ the more creative the better! Itโ€™s free to take part but you need to book in advance.

Danteโ€™s Boutique: On October 31st, from 10am โ€“ 3pm, enjoy some Spell Jar Crafting with Jenna at Danteโ€™s Boutique. Create a spell jar with your own mystical ingredients and enjoy a wonderfully magical experience!

Northwich Library: throughout the half-term week, Northwich Library (currently located at Weaver Hall Museum, is running a range of free events for families, including lego & games, Autumn crafts, Rhyme Time and more. Head to their website to see the full line-up.

Halloween Activities for the Kids

Wild Tots: On October 25th, Wild Tots hosts its Monster Mash Party. Fancy dress is welcome, with prizes for the best costume, alongside activities such as apple bobbing and spooky balloon making. Taking place from 3pm โ€“ 5pm, tickets are ยฃ16, which includes a lunch box and an adult admission.

The following day (26th), it hosts its Halloween Crafts event from 9.30am โ€“ 11am. Tickets cost ยฃ16, which includes all materials & a monster tea party, with one adult admission.

On the 27th, Mini Makery Events head to Wild Tots for 2 K-pop Glow Workshops. From 12.30pm – 1.30pm, create your own shimmering demon hunter potion, perfect for keeping those demons at bay! Plus design your ownย charmed glow-in-the-dark jewellery with a Demon Hunter twist! (ยฃ15)

From 1:45 โ€“ 2:30pm, make spooky glow-in-the-dark slime and craft matching charmed glow-in-the-dark jewellery,ย showing off your K-pop style with a spooky twist! (ยฃ12)

Beaโ€™s Place: Located on High Street, Beaโ€™s family play cafรฉ will also be hosting 2 Halloween events, on Friday 24th and Sunday 26th October, from 12.30 โ€“ 2.30pm. Thereโ€™ll be themed games, snacks, prizes for the best dressed and a play session. Tickets are ยฃ15 per child and ยฃ12 per sibling and can be booked on the website โ€“ www.beasplace.co.uk.

Memorial Court: On Thursday 30th October, families can make a splash at Memorial Courtโ€™s Halloween-themed pool party! Taking place at 1.30pm, the pool will be full of spooky themed toys!

The Works: Pick up goody bags and stickers for the kids, while Danteโ€™s Boutique has free sweets and a fantastic window display!

Cash Generator: If you pop into Cash Generator, theyโ€™re hosting a Halloween colouring competition with the winner getting a Boo Basket and Ryman are also providing free Halloween colouring sheets.

Max Spielmann: If you want that picture-perfect Halloween shot, head to Max Spielmann, where thereโ€™s a cosy Autumnal backdrop โ€“ for ยฃ15.99, youโ€™ll receive a selection of prints, perfect for gifts for the family!

Halloween activities for adults

Dockyard: Fancy getting creative this Halloween? On Thursday October 16th, Dockyard are hosting a Halloween Pumpkin painting workshop. ย In this adults-only session, you’ll be guided step-by-step to design and decorate your own beautifully painted pumpkin perfect for seasonal home dรฉcor or a fun autumnal centrepiece.

Marbury Park: On Sunday 26th October, head to Marbury Lodge to learn how to โ€˜make a witchโ€™s broomโ€™. Starting at 1pm, Charlotte Peters-Rock will help you to make your own beautiful witchโ€™s broom to take home. Bring materials from your garden to supplement greenery from the woodlands.

Goblin: Goblin arenโ€™t just hosting one event but a Month of Scares! The spooky season begins with their 3-week D&D mini-campaign, which runs on Tuesday 14th, 21st & 28th October at 6:30 PM.

Itโ€™s perfect for new players looking to jump in, and veterans who want to jump in to some spooky fun.🧭 Drop in, drop out, join for one session or all three!

Goblin will also be hosting a special Magic the Gathering event on Friday 31st as well as providing seasonal twists on their usual event nights.

The Salthouse: Spend Sunday afternoon doing something a little different at The Salthouse, with Halloween Bingo with Taxy Mike!

Grape & Bean: The ever-popular Spookulele IV returns to The Grape & Bean on October 30th โ€“ with Northwich Uke Club in attendance, expect spooky songs, terrifying tunes and the most ghoulish outfits in town! And the best news? Itโ€™s free to attend!

Dockyard: At Dockyard, itโ€™s all about the Rocky Horror Show! Join DJ Scott on Friday 31st October, with rocky horror themed decorations and fancy dress encouraged!

The Salty Dog: The Salty Dog has not just one but four events lined up to celebrate Halloween in style. On October 30th, pop punk band Nervous Twitch will be performing, with tickets just ยฃ5 and on Friday 31st, head down to their Halloween Party with the Salty Goffs performing live band karaoke (but you will be singing!) Fancy dress is compulsory.

On Saturday November 1st, Tommy Scott, from band Space will be performing, while on Sunday 2nd, thereโ€™s a matinee performance with three punk bands โ€“ Covid 21, Snowflakes and Rave Against the Machine.
