Northwich is bursting with families whose children are all different ages and interests. However, sometimes it can be hard to figure out what to do with them – especially on a weekend.

So, we decided to put some ideas together for you to make those decisions a little easier on your next family day out in Northwich.

Church Walk Paddling Pool

This free children’s outdoor Paddling Pool is a treat during the summer months for a family day out in Northwich. The shallow pool provides hours of fun and is a lovely alternative to the beach. As well as the pool, there is a children’s play area and a shop selling hot and cold drinks and snacks. Bring a picnic and make a day of it or treat yourself to lunch just a stone’s throw away in town. Church Walk Paddling Pool is open every day in the summer months, depending on the weather. Give them a call just to double check on 01606 41510.

Vickersway Park

Also known as Roker Park, this hidden gem can be found on the outskirts of Northwich town centre. Simply follow the River Dane out of town and pop under the arches of the railway. Children and adults can come here for a game of crazy golf, table-tennis and bowling. There’s also a skate park, play area and small animals to visit. Spend the day here and enjoy a visit to the café for a take-away tea and ice cream. The park is perfect for some time out with the family. For more information regarding opening times and facilities please visit the Northwich Town Council website.

Brio Leisure – Topsy Tumbles

If you have young children under 5 then the Topsy Tumble sessions at Brio Leisure are the activity for you! It’s especially useful when the weather isn’t too great. It’s the perfect place to have some fun with toys, bikes, push-a-rounds, slides and a bouncy castle!

Wet ‘n’ Wild

Wet ‘n’ Wild sessions at Brio Leisure are great for the whole family. Come and make a splash with mats, balls, toys and – most importantly – the giant inflatable obstacle course! Northwich Memorial Hall even has a fantastic waterslide so you’re guaranteed to have a great time.

Family Fun Swims

These sessions are a little quieter so are ideal if you have younger children. However, you can still make use of all of the floats, toys and balls! It’s a perfect environment for your kids to get more confident in the water while spending quality time together. Visit the Brio Leisure website for more information.

Grozone

Come and spend an afternoon in this ‘hidden oasis’. This beautiful space in the middle of Northwich is a flourishing community garden, horticulture and wildlife project. It’s a great place to appreciate the amazing wildlife, flowers, and plants that the team continue to grow there. Take some time out and explore this secret garden. Visit the Grozone website for more information.
