As the sun makes a more regular and welcome appearance in the run-up to summer, there’s plenty of ways to make the most of it in Northwich, at little to no cost!

Northwich’s Paddling Pool is back for the summer, opening to the public from May to September. This fantastic free activity is located at Church Walk, offering a large space to enjoy a family picnic, a splash in the pool, and enjoy an ice cream and drink from the pool shop! Open to all, to enjoy a morning or afternoon at Northwich’s Paddling Pool, you simply need to book your slot here. Bookings open on Thursday for the following week and are very popular, so make sure to plan ahead!

Vickersway Park

A short walk from the Paddling Pool is Vickersway Park, which has something for all the family to enjoy this summer. From tennis courts to crazy golf, table tennis tables, a play park, bowling green and skate park, there’s lots of open space to sit back, relax and enjoy some time with the family. During the summer months, there’s also a shop selling drinks, ice creams and providing club and racket hire.

Free Family-Friendly Events

We’ve also got lots of free, family-friendly events to look forward to in Northwich this summer. On June 13th and 14th, head into the town centre for the Northwich Music Festival, which will provide 2 days of live music, an artisan market, food and drink and lots more.

    Northwich River Festival

On July 18th, the annual and much-loved River Festival returns to the River Weaver. With fairground rides, pirates, food and drink, live music and lots of action to cheer on as the dragon boats race down the river, it’s a great day out for everyone, and it also raises lots of money for some fantastic local charities. And that’s not all! The River Festival also features the Northwich Duck Race, which will take place this year on the River Weaver – giving you double the reasons to come down and make the most of your Saturday!

On Saturday August 22nd, Northwich’s renowned Pina Colada Festival is back, filling the town with vibrant colour, live music and lots and lots of fun! From the town centre beach to fairground rides, free craft activities and brilliant Batala parades, this is a day out for all ages and one not to be missed.

To make sure you’re fully prepared for the summer months and lots of time outside, make sure to stock up on suncream at Boots, Superdrug or one of the supermarkets in Northwich town centre, and pick up some lovely summer outfits from White Ribbon Boutique, The Style Hut, Apparel, H&M or Next.
