A new group has been set up to help support Northwich with its In Bloom campaign, events and environment days. One Northwich is for those who have time to spare, but aren’t looking for a formal commitment, with there being no pre-requisites to join you’ll only need to be proud to be from Northwich.
One Northwich was launched by Northwich BID & Northwich Town Council after seeing a gap in the existing volunteer offering. Chris Shaw, Clerk of the Town Council said “we regularly get requests from people wanting to support the planting in the town centre and surrounding areas, but don’t have the infrastructure to have volunteers on site with our team.
One Northwich will provide us with an official volunteer base that can register to be part of the various planting we deliver in the town. This will not only be a great way for the community to get involved, but it will also allow us to increase the planting we deliver each year.”
To be part of One Northwich, volunteers will complete a quick registration form and then receive periodic emails letting them know what projects are available to get involved in. Northwich BID Manager, Adam Gerrard said “we know that local people are proud of their town and want to get involved. Across 2022 we have a range of events & festivals that we know volunteers would not only enjoy being part of but they would provide a much needed resource to deliver bigger and better events than ever before.”
Some of the events One Northwich volunteers will be asked to support are Krazy Races, Pina Colada Festival & the towns Christmas Extravaganza. Those who register to become a volunteer won’t be expected to take part in all the projects that take place, volunteers can pick and choose from the lists that are sent out periodically.
