Enjoy festive street games, try your hand at 9 holes of Christmassy Crazy Golf or watch a fantastic performance by the wonderful Barnton Circus.
With a Christmas Market offering great gift ideas from sweet treats to clothing and jewellery as well as free story telling for younger visitors and the fantastic Sharlands fun fair, the day promises to be jam-packed with activities.
Visitors can also enjoy the festive props around the town centre, for those all important selfies!
Northwich Town Mayor, Cllr Jane Thomas said
“Amidst the shimmering lights and festive cheer, the Northwich Christmas Extravaganza is set to dazzle once more. As Mayor, I’m thrilled to be part of this grand celebration. This year promises to surpass all expectations, thanks to the collaborative efforts of our dedicated partners. Witnessing the bustling energy in the town centre over the weekend is truly remarkable. I truly believe that this light switch-on event is unparalleled in Cheshire. I eagerly anticipate welcoming everyone to this spectacular event, with hopes for fantastic weather throughout the weekend. Let the magic begin!”
Northwich BID Chair, Ellis Wardle added
“This year promises to be an inclusive event for everyone, with our activities once again including BSL interpretation of the Story Time activities and a dedicated SEND session on the Ice Rink. The light switch on event will also have a live BSL interpreter.
In addition many of our town centre businesses will be ‘dressing to impress’ in the hotly contested ‘Christmas Window’ competition. Residents can vote for the favourite window display on the Visit Northwich socials from 1st December”
With entertainment on the main stage in Barons Quay from 12noon the event will draw to a close with the traditional Lantern Parade, setting off from Waitrose at 4:40pm. Once the parades arrives into Barons Square, the countdown and light switch-on will take place at around 5pm, with a firework finale at 6pm.
