Getting into the festive spirit in Northwich couldn’t be easier.

We’re lucky enough to have a whole host of Christmassy activities right on our doorstep to enjoy at places like The Anderton Boat Lift, Tatton Park, Northwich Artisan Market’s Xmas special and at local restaurants and bars. But no one does it like we do.

We’re inviting you to step into Christmas with the famous Northwich Christmas Extravaganza.

This year is set to be even bigger and better than ever with events and activities that the whole family are guaranteed to enjoy.

Let’s get festive

Start your day getting Christmas ready with face painting, glitter tattoos and balloon modelling before making delicious Gingerbread biscuits right on the High Street.

If your sweet tooth still wants some treats then we suggest getting involved in the Christmas Bauble Trail! The whole family can explore the town centre in search of the beautifully decorated baubles displayed in a series of shops to find the hidden Christmas phrase and win a chocolatey surprise! Whilst you’re at it, why not pay a trip to Barons Quay and watch the amazing Barnton Circus show, visit the Snow Globe near Wildwood or make some special mosaic Christmas gifts with Mosaicopia in Pocket Park? And that’s not all!

NORTHWICH’S VERY OWN POLAR EXPRESS

If you want some time to relax you can even hop on to the Christmas Express Train and enjoy a festive trip through the streets! If you’re thinking about food then don’t worry; we’ve got you covered.

There will be Christmas Markets and Street Food stalls dotted about town providing treats and gifts. There will also be a food stall, a band playing and school choirs singing outside Waitrose; so you can fully embrace Christmas whilst filling up on winter-warming food!

adding some sparkle to your christmas

As the day comes to an end the whole family will enjoy watching the School Lantern Parade as it makes its way through the streets lighting up our historic buildings as they pass.

The night will be closing in and the temperature may be dropping, but the light switch on and fireworks show will be the perfect finale to warm you up before you head home. The crowds are sure to gather by the library as we light up the town with Christmas lights and magical fireworks!

This year’s Christmas Extravaganza isn’t one to miss. So make sure you get the date in your diaries and visit the page on our website to plan your perfect day.

‘Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house
Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse.
The stockings were hung by the chimney with care,
In hopes that Sir Nicholas soon would be there.
